📜 plain-words terms

The house rules, written down properly.

These are the Terms of Service for The Clue-Less House — the mobile app and the website at thecluelesshouse.com, operated by Sanctuary Sleep Co. ("we", "us"). By making an account or using the app, you're agreeing to what's below.

What the house is

A private place to write down how you're feeling and to keep track of your sleep. You log symptoms, keep notes and folders, and — if you choose to connect a wearable or your phone's health app — see your nights drawn out and explained in ordinary words.

What the house is not

It is not a doctor, a diagnosis, a medical device, or a substitute for professional care. Nothing the app or its companions say is medical advice. Sleep readings, stage estimates, and patterns are informational estimates, not clinical measurements. Always talk to a qualified clinician about your health, and never delay care because of something you read here. If you think you're having an emergency, call your local emergency number.

Your account

You need to be 18 or older. Keep your password to yourself — you're responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us if you think someone else has gotten into it. One person per account; a caregiver may keep notes about someone they care for inside their own account.

Your content stays yours

Everything you write — symptoms, journals, notes, photos, sleep logs — belongs to you. You give us only the permission we need to store it, show it back to you, and pass your message to the AI companion so it can answer. We don't sell it, and we don't use it to train third-party models.

Using it fairly

Don't use the house to break the law, to harass someone, to upload anyone else's private information without their say-so, or to hammer, scrape, or reverse-engineer the service. Shared keys are for people you actually trust.

Leaving whenever you like

You can delete anything you've written at any time, or close the whole account from the Closet → 'Leave the house'. That's permanent. We may suspend or close an account that's being used to harm someone or to abuse the service.

📋 the same thing, spelled out

Connected services

You may choose to connect third-party services — Apple Health, Google Health Connect, a wearable account such as Oura, or a calendar. Those connections are optional, made with your explicit consent, limited to the data you approve, and revocable at any time from inside the app or from the provider's own settings. We read that data only to show it back to you inside your account. Those providers have their own terms and privacy policies, and we're not responsible for how they operate their services.

AI companions

The companions are AI assistants. They can be wrong, and they can misread what you wrote. Treat what they say as friendly conversation, not as fact or advice. Don't rely on them for medical, legal, or financial decisions.

Paid plans

Parts of the house may be offered as a paid plan. Prices, billing periods, and cancellation are shown at the point of purchase. Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are billed and refunded under that store's rules. Cancelling stops future charges; the free parts of the house stay open.

Availability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it running, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or remove features. Keep your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sanctuary Sleep Co. is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data or lost profits, arising from your use of the service. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Privacy

How we handle your information is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll update the date below and leave a note in the app's mailbox. Continuing to use the house after that means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except where your local consumer-protection law gives you stronger rights.
